Quill & Key Privacy Policy
Effective 4 November 2026. This policy covers the Quill & Key app for iPhone and iPad, made by reinforce42 ("we").
Summary
Quill & Key does not collect, store on our servers, share or sell any personal data. It has no accounts, no ad network, no analytics, no tracking and no in-app purchases, and it does not need an internet connection to play: the game is one file inside the app and never connects to the internet.
Where an ad would appear, this version shows a short placeholder instead. It is part of the game itself, plays no real ad, and sends and tracks nothing.
What stays on your device
- Your progress: the lines you have solved or started, your guesses, the letters you have revealed, mistakes and time taken, the days you played, and a backup copy of all of this in case the main copy is damaged.
- Your text size choice and whether you have seen How to play and each letter's arrival.
- A short on-device log of what happened in the game and when (for example, a line opened or solved, a reveal, an ad placeholder shown), which the game uses for its own statistics screens. The log keeps only the most recent entries.
None of this ever leaves your device. Deleting the app removes everything above.
Copy result
If you tap Copy result, the game puts a short summary of your counts (never the letter's text) on your device's clipboard. It goes nowhere unless you paste it somewhere yourself.
What we receive
Nothing from the app. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use it only to reply to you. You can ask us to delete that correspondence at any time.
Apple may provide us with anonymous, aggregated App Store statistics (for example, download counts) and crash reports from users who chose to share them with developers in iOS settings. These are governed by Apple's privacy policy and do not identify you to us.
Children
Quill & Key collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, for example if real ads are added, we will update this page and the effective date above before that version is released.
